This week we started thinking about possible (as well as impossible) solutions to our problem (How might we reduce distractions for a parent driver made by driving with kids in the car, and enable more quality time between the kid and the parent ).
we practiced several different ideation methods, including:
writing down on sticky notes as many different solutions as we can think of for our problem, and put all together a big board... including illustrations!

We also made a timeline of out worst case scenario- we thought, "what are the most annoying things that happen while driving your kids to their kindergarten and school?" with some help from our experienced mentors, we came up with a grear deal of distractions parents experience.

we also acted out parts of our worst case scenario, including using costume props, sitting in a car made from classroom chairs, and pretending to be screaming 3 year olds. it was fun as much as it was educational!
This week we needed to convert our worst case scenario into a storyboard, including a solution for the problems in it. the solution didn't have to be applicable, so we when with a Robo-Nanny: a robot that is placed in front of the child, and can talk to him on order to redirect his attention from the parent when parents need to concentrate. It will also help parents and children to be more communicative while the road is clear. The robot also learns from the answers of the child in order to talk to him about things that will cheer him up if he doesn't want to go to kindergarten.
